The representation theory of groups and algebras achieved an increasing importance in the last 30 years. It received more attention in signal processing community, image processing and pattern recognition.
The goal of this special session is to deal with Geometry Manifolds and Lie Theory applications in image processing and pattern recognition. We focus on theoretical and applicative papers on novel contributions in this research area.
This special session tries to provide an overview on the most recent state-of-the-art in this field and exchange mathematical concepts in order to discuss and identify new research and applications topics.
Authors are invited to submit papers on original and unpublished research and practical applications related to Geometry Manifolds and Lie Group theory. In particular, we call for contributions, including but not limited to the following topics:
- Statistics on manifolds
- Shape deformation
- Geodesic paths and distances
- Shape space
- Shape classification
- Manifold/Topology Learning
- Riemannian Geometry in Manifold Learning
- Shape Space and Diffeomorphic mappings
- Optimization on Manifold
- Infinite Dimensional Shape spaces
- Geometry on Graphs

This special session is a special parallel track of the main Workshop Taima 2015, which will be held on May 11-16 in Hammamet Tunisia. Accepted papers will be published in a special proceeding of Taima’15. Please follow the format for Taima2015: http://www.arts-pi.org.tn/taima2015/soumission.phpAll submissions must be in English.
