Special session on Remote Sensing and Statistical Image Modeling

Chairman : Basel Solaiman, LATIM - LAboratoire de Traitement de l’Information Médicale, Telecom Bretagne, France
Imed Riadh Farah, RIADI-GDL, ENSI, Tunisie

Remote sensing is concerned with the acquisition, treatment and interpretation of data collected from various sensors embedded on various devices such as satellites and airplanes. It plays a very important role in order to study major facts affecting earth, such as the urbanism expansion or the vegetation and water resources evolution. It is also considered as a fundamental support to detect and monitor natural phenomena such as erosion, flooding, deforestation, desertification, etc. The continuous technological progress in remote sensing has led to a phenomenal increase of satellite images flood which require developing new algorithms and systems for the effective and efficient processing and analysis of such data.

This special session aims to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art as well as highlight important research directions in the field of remote sensing. It is also an excellent opportunity for young researchers to exchange with leading scientists in this field.

This special session is a special parallel track of Taima’2015 Workshop which will be held on May 11-16 in Hammamet, Tunisia. Accepted papers will be published in a special proceeding of Taima’2015.

We are particularly interested in, but not limited to, contributions related to the following topics:

  • Hyperspectral imaging
  • Land cover classification and change detection
  • Multi-resolution image datasets
  • Correcting and Registering Images
  • Multispectral imaging
  • Radar imaging

Important Dates and Results

Submission Deadline : March 31st, 2015

Submission modalities

Authors are invited to submit original papers that have not be already published or under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this special session.

Submitted papers will be peer reviewed in order to ensure that the contributions are of high scientific quality.

All manuscripts should be in english, prepared according to Taima format (word or latex) and submitted online: http://www.arts-pi.org.tn/taima2015/soumission.php. Please select the option "Special session-RemoteSensing" when submitting.
